AxisOne Ventures Limited is an operations consultancy based in Hong Kong. We work on how businesses run: the processes, costs, decisions and routines that determine whether a plan is actually delivered.
Point of view
Most of the problems we are asked about are not strategy problems. The direction is clear; what is unclear is why the business cannot move at the speed the direction assumes.
So we start with evidence: how the work runs today, where it waits, where it repeats, and what it costs. From there we agree what is worth changing, who owns each change, and how progress will be judged. Where the engagement includes it, we stay with the work while the change is introduced.
We are based in Hong Kong. Work is carried out remotely or on site by arrangement.
How we work
Five principles we hold to in every engagement.
Agree the problem first
Before anything is examined we write down what the engagement is for and what a useful result looks like. Scope that is not agreed is scope that drifts.
Examine the workflow, not the org chart
We look at how work actually moves, including the workarounds. The gap between the documented process and the real one is usually where the answer is.
Prioritise practical changes
A change the operation can staff and sustain beats a better one that it cannot. We rank by what is realistic, and say when something is not.
Define ownership
Every proposed change is tied to a role that can carry it. Actions owned by a committee do not happen.
Review progress against a measure
Each change gets a measure and a date. It is the only honest way to tell whether the work was worth doing.
Responsibilities
Our responsibility, and yours.
We are responsible for the quality of the analysis, for being clear about what the evidence does and does not support, for proposing changes that can realistically be staffed, and for saying so when a scope is not the right one.
Management decisions, approvals and responsibility for running the operation remain with you. We do not take executive authority, and we do not present our recommendations as guaranteed outcomes: results depend on decisions and conditions inside your business.
